Gwyn Pevonka

Gwyn Pevonka was a part of the Maker City in Knoxville, but moved away in 2021 to Washington State. Her paintings are created with anywhere from 20-50 layers of paint, which she then carves back revealing the colors underneath. she has two bodies of work; her carvings are abstracts, with an occasional landscape here and there and her assemblages which are her girls with flowers, and animals. Her assemblages are made primarily of paint, she reuses the excess that has been carved away from her abstract paintings to create a collaged medium.
