Elysia Mann

Elysia Mann makes books, weavings, prints and poems that encourage deep attachment to place. She grew up prairie-barefoot on her family’s Nebraskan homestead where partial vision loss instilled an early reverence for the horizon, stars, and sight itself. Her work combines fragments of landscape and language in ways that disrupt binary thinking and our capitalist instincts to separate ourselves from nature and each other. Elysia shows locally and internationally and was recently awarded a Steven & Ann Bailey Opportunity Grant. She currently works as a studio tech at UTK and takes commissions for screen printing, weaving, letterpress, book design, and other creative projects.
